Floating Market &Ayutthaya

In the past, daily commerce in Thailand was conducted mostly along rivers and canals (or khlongs in Thai). Bangkoks water network was busy and served as the principal means of communication causing Bangkok to be called as the Venice of the East by early European visitors. Out from Bangkok, there is a floating market that becomes one of the Thailand's most famous attractions, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Every morning, boat venders will cramp in Khlong Damnoen Saduak to sell product from their plantations that varies from fruits to vegetables. Now the product is more varieties as there are many visitors visit here every day. Check out there early morning and take a ride on a row boat to get the real sense of floating market.

Ayuthaya is located at the junction of the Chao Phraya, Lopburi and Pa Sak rivers, and on the main north-south railway linking Chiang Mai to Bangkok. The old city is on an island formed by a bend of the Chao Phraya on the west and south sides, the Pa Sak on the east side and the Klong Muang canal on the northern side.
In 1767, the city was destroyed by the Burmese army, resulting in the collapse of the kingdom. The ruins of the old city are preserved in the Ayutthaya historical park, which is recognised internationally as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ruins, characterised by the prang (reliquary towers) and gigantic monasteries, give an idea of the city's past splendour.Modern Ayutthaya was refounded a few kilometres to the east.
